June opens with music, beach nights, and two useful guides
A quick St. Augustine launch read: concerts stack up this week, Music by the Sea returns, and the first local guides are ready.
A heavy music week starts Tuesday
The St. Augustine Amphitheatre calendar gives the week a clear anchor. The Black Crowes play Tuesday, June 2 at 7 p.m.; Young the Giant and Cold War Kids follow Friday, June 5 at 6:30 p.m.; and the Rolling Together Revue brings G. Love, Donavon Frankenreiter, and Moon Taxi to the Backyard Stage on Saturday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m.
That is enough live music for one weekend without stretching for filler. If you are planning around traffic, dinner, or a beach day, this is the block to put on the calendar first.
Two public concert series fill the midweek calendar
Music by the Sea is listed for Wednesday, June 3 from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Johns County Ocean Pier Park, pairing the beachside concert series with local food vendors.
The city-run Concerts in the Plaza series follows Thursday, June 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Plaza de la Constitucion, with a U.S. Navy Band performance opening the June run.
The first two St. Augustine guides are live
The first guide pair is deliberately practical. Best Coffee in St. Augustine covers Relampago, DOS Coffee & Wine, The Kookaburra, Juniper Market, and City Perks, with addresses, hours where available, and photos traced to business or local directory pages.
Best Parks for Kids covers Project SWING, Splash Park at the Pier, Treaty Park, Ron Parker Park, and Anastasia State Park. The photos are tied to city, county, state-park, or park-operator pages, and the copy sticks to amenities those pages actually name.
